Our skilled and knowledgeable mentors will teach your young skater everything they need to know about skating and playing roller derby in a safe and nurturing environment. We build confidence and facilitate empowerment as we prepare the next generation of Calgary’s derby players. Calgary Junior Roller Derby (CJRD) is open to skaters of all genders between the ages of 6-17.

No experience necessary!

Practices are held Wednesdays (levels 2/3) or Thursdays (Rookies/level 1), between 6-7 pm at the West Hillhurst Community Association, located at 1940 6th Ave NW.
Registration fees are are $50/month or $200/session (5 months).

The next season for CJRD begins on Wednesday February 5, 2025 for Level 2/3 and Thursday February 6, 2025 for Level 1.

Our season runs till June 25, 2025 for level 2/3 and June 26, 2025 for level 1.

We intake transfer skaters on a rolling basis, but new skater enrolment cut off is February 26.

Drop-in skaters can sign a waiver, but regular skaters require insurance. Skaters can obtain league approved insurance at: wftdicanada.ca

Gear required:

Knee pads
Elbow pads
Wrist guards
Mouthguard
Helmet (must be meant for skating)
Quad roller skates!
